Hi, I'm Dan, owner and engineer of Shaka Studios.

I love music, and I love bringing other people's dreams and ideas to reality.

My work is focused on capturing the vibe and soul and originality of your music. I find the most compelling music comes from the heart rather than the head.

All my work aims to bring out your style and enhance your concepts, in a safe and low pressure environment.

Over the last 25 years, Dan has put in the hard yards to become and accomplished musician, producer, and audio engineer. Through self-driven projects he's explored a wide variety of tools and techniques for audio production, and with solo artists and bands he's been the voice of reason, the driving force, and the centre point for achieving a quality end result that is true to the artistic vision.

These same skills have extended into other audio related sectors such as film score and sound effects, interviews and podcasts, and live sound for bands and theater. Dan has also ventured into video and multi-camera setups, producing music video clips, short narrative content, podcasts, and multi-camera live performances.
